Rubber Process Oil Manufacturers

Gandhar manufactures a wide range of standard as well as customized Rubber Process Oils under the brand name “Divyol” to cater manufacturers of NR, SBR, PBR, Butyl and EPDM based rubber Products. RPO is normally classified into three basic types depending upon the presence of Carbon atom, namely Aromatic, Paraffinic & Naphthenic Oil .

Aromatic Oils are rubber process oils that are primarily aromatic hydrocarbons and are generally dark in colour & have a good compatibility with most Rubber Polymers. These oils have a high rubber and polymer solvency. They are highly suitable for natural rubber, Styrene Butadiene Rubber (SBR), Poly Butadiene Rubber (PBR) and Neoprene Rubbers. They are extensively used in the manufacturing of automobile tyres, tread rubber, conveyor belts, automotive components & floor mats etc., where colour of the end product is not important.

Paraffinic Oils are rubber process oils which are generally light in colour having wide viscosity range, higher aniline & flash point. They also have a good oxidative and thermal stability and hence are suitable for manufacturing of light coloured products. These oils are majorly used in manufacturing of products like butyl tubes, hose pipes, heat resistant conveyor belts, automotive components, etc. Their high paraffinic content and viscosity allows them to be used for achieving high retention properties after ageing and higher loading of oil.

Naphthenic oil is a type of rubber process oil that has good solubility and a good thermal and colour stability. This oil has a very low aromatic content and a low wax content. This in turn allows the oil to have a low pour point on lower viscosities and a high solvency level where higher viscosities are needed. It is extensively used in the manufacturing of foot wear, LPG tubes, hot water bags, moulded & extruded products. Also, due to its better solubility, it is able to form stable emulsions and gives an advantages over other oils.

PCA stands for Polycyclic Aromatics. Oils having less than 3% PCA are termed as low PCA oils or special grade process oils. Rubber process oil manufacturers consider these oils to be safety oils since high PCA oils are carcinogenic i.e. high PCA oils are known to cause skin cancer. Low PCA oils are extensively used in the manufacturing of automobile tyres, tread rubber, conveyor belts, automotive components, floor mats & reclaim rubber etc., where colour of the end product is not important. Also, this category of oils are the new generation oil that are guaranteed to meet the European Union requirement of IP 346 for PCA content.
